We live in a world where you can break a body part and receive sympathy. A world where you can have a medical condition such as diabetes and it’s OK to take medication.
A world that recognizes that every part of the body is susceptible to illness and accepts treatment, except for the brain.
Unfortunately, stigma towards mental illness is a constant reminder that one of the most essential organs of the body (our BRAIN) that assists in the regulation and function of the body is misunderstood, criticized, and not valued as important.
All right gyrls of all ages, let’s chat.
What does mental illness mean to you?
How do you reduce associated stigma?
How do you promote mental health awareness?
Have you suffered from mental illness? If so, sharing is caring, sharing is support, sharing is building education and awareness.
